Hello, my name is Jessie Lewis, and I'll be showing you around the world of learning. To start off, I'd like to share a little about me. I am a freshman at Mercer University studying early childhood and special education. My experiences here have already improved my teaching skills and have give me new insights to teaching. Fortunately, I have recorded all of my experiences in the classroom on my blog so that I can share them with others!
I graduated with an honors diploma at Hilliard Davidson High School, while I also studied education at the McVey Innovative Learning Center for two periods every day. This program for education, or Academy EDU, offers future educators the opportunity to dip their toes in the world of teaching, by granting students opportunities to travel to schools and observe teacher's and their classrooms. Back at the Innovative Learning center, we focused on the integration of technology in our lesson plans, cultural diversity in the classroom, and also on the influence of innovative and creative thinking. Additionally, they certified us in CPR, and prepared us for the classroom in every possible way.
When I was fifteen , I began teaching swim lessons. I fell in love with teaching, being creative, and watching a child’s face illuminate when they succeeded, and I knew one day I had to become an educator. My goal is to teach early childhood students or special need students.
If you would like to learn more about me, please flip through my slide show portraying my love for my family, friends, and my hobbies.
